Engineering 215 and Physics 262 are the same course taught by the same instructor. Engineering majors take EGR215 and physics majors take PHY262.

This course is a study of basic AC and DC circuits and their applications in instrumentation. Each student will get hands-on experience with electrical circuits and devices and learn how to design and build digital circuits.

Final Exam - Reminders
Posted: May 7, 2013

  1. Check your grades and attendance using the link above.
  2. Evaluate your professor at http://www.sfasu.edu
  3. The review sheet for the final exam is given to the left.
  4. Remember to bring your magnet and motor.  The motor must run for 60 seconds without touching it.     Please see the MIT lecture below related to these DC motor.   The link below will fast forward to 34 minutes into the lecture where the professor mentions "The Motor Contest".

Review Sheet for Exam 3

The practice Exam 3 is optional.  You do not need to turn it in.  They are just more examples that are similar to those found on the homework.  The review sheet for exam 3 has not been modified in several years and is still accurate.

The two videos below are from 2010 but they should still be helpful.

Honors Assignments
Posted: Jan 15, 2013
For honors credit in EGR215 you can complete the following assignments.  These can be completed after each lab time or on Tuesday at 2:00pm.

Use Electronic Workbench software on a computer in room 315 to construct the circuits for each lab.   For example, for the first lab you will want to create an Electronics Workbench file called:
  1. Figure2.1.EWB
  2. Figure2.2.EWB
  3. Figure2.3.EWB
  4. Figure2.6.EWB
Be sure to create similar files for each of the 12 labs and ask your instructor for guidance when needed.

Create a folder on a single computer that contains the files and copy these files onto a jump drive provided by your instructor at the end of the semester.

Exam 2 Review
Posted: Oct 18, 2011
1. Check out the Review Sheet linked to the left or here.

2. The image below show the equations that will remain on the chalkboard during the exam.
Note that the RL circuit is the one that will be on the exam.

Review your notes for the derivations of H(f) for lowpass and highpass filters.
